Blaze met Gen. Tso with equal vigor, causing flames to roar out from the attack. Gen. Tso flipped backwards to catch his footing before dashing forward to recover ground.
“Poison Jab!” Deandre called out.
As Gen. Tso picked up speed, his arms began glowing a deep purple. When the distance between the two pokemon dwindled, Gen. Tso slung his left arm toward Blaze.
Suddenly, Deandre called out again. “Perfect feint, go Flare Blitz!”
Using the inertia from the feigned punch, Gen. Tso spun harder on his heel. His right foot instantly caught fire as it swung hard toward the right side of Blaze’s neck.
Deandre stood across from his trainer, and newfound opponent. He crossed his arms and watched for subtle facial reactions in hopes he could anticipate future moves.

Saleme would give Hilary a nod. “Just remember the lot of you are still rookies I haven’t even had time to give your pokemon vitamins they need” Saleme muttered although it should have been obvious to Hilary he didn’t really mean vitamins. Looking at his phone he would frown seeing the message. “This means trouble Nix get to that ghastly as soon as possible be ready for a fight we will meet up with you asap” Saleme text back returning his pokemon he look at Hilary. “Seems stuff finally happening are you in?” he asked getting ready to dash off.

Blaze flipped backward once the attacks collided, his feet sliding briefly before finding his balance. Zuku's eyebrows furrowed slightly as his opponent called for a Poison Jab attack, a technique rarely seen used by a Blaziken. This Detective and his Blaziken were definitely an unorthodox pair, which made them dangerous opponents. "Blaze, don't let that attack connect! You know what to do!" he called.
As Gen. Tso began to close the distance, Blaze narrowed his eyes, keeping his gaze set squarely on the center point of the other Blaziken's body. A mistake made by many fighters was staying focused on a particular area rather than the body as a whole and reading body language. Blaze began to take a few steps back, swiping his claws together a few times. As the gap between them vanished and Gen. Tso appeared to go for his Poison Jab, Blaze quickly leaned his head back to dodge it, frowning as the attack kept going, as if never meant to hit its mark. Even before hearing Deandre's words, he quickly deduced a feint and moved to raised his talons as the Flare Blitz came around, more inclined to take the hit on his arms rather than his neck.
A feint as well, to throw us off balance and provide extra momentum......and they were also able to interrupt Blaze's Hone Claws before he could finish. That's fine, but by this point there should be a bigger difference in their speed, Zuku thought, folding his arms as he watched. He couldn't help the smirk that started to stretch across his face. He must have the Speed Boost ability as well. Well, that means we don't have to worry about any 'Wonder Counters' once they started to get tired. But we'll have to be careful. Blaze is probably realizing this, too. Unfolding his arms, Zuku stamped his foot as he pumped his fist forward. "Blaze, routine number 3, go!"
Blaze grunted in acknowledgement, the flames around his wrists flaring as he spun to his left, raising his left foot which immediately burst into flames as he threw a Blaze Kick in response aimed at Gen. Tso's chest, which would soon be followed by another using the momentum from the first, lifting himself from the ground as well as he twisted his body to use the opportunity to sharpen the claws on his right foot before landing.

Hillary nodded. "It's been real for a while, Saleme. I'm ready." She gestured to Cybele, who followed them as they headed toward's Nix's location.
= = = = = =
Nix headed towards where the Gastly had headed, and found a crowd of shivering people surrounding...something.
"Saleme...get here quick, something weird is going on." She sent the voice message, before struggling through the crowd, shoving to make her way through, arriving to see what was in the centre of the circle.
She saw the beast, and then the fainted Gastly on the ground. Nix gasped.
"Saleme....it's Chuck."
Chuck snarled and hissed at the crowds, but leapt back when one of the larger trainers prodded towards him with a stick. Chuck looked scared, and cowed. Were the meds wearing off?
"Stop!" Nix shouted. "Leave him alone! He's not harming anyone!"
She was largely ignored, as another trainer, heartened by the lack of attacks from the Zoroark/Human hybrid, screamed "FREAK!"
Chuck flinched. It was a word he heard often in his own mind. Hearing it out loud was new.
After this, the crowd began to hurl abuse at him, ugly words and jeering echoed around the circle, and Nix was thrown back, unable to reach him.
"Crap, crap, crap, crap.." She cursed, struggling to get through, her voice drowned out by all the hate and disgust.
= = = = = = = = =
"It's been a hot minute. Still no friends. Not as popular as you imagined, huh, Catherine?" Xiomara smiled.
Catherine shrugged, still held tight to the chair she was sat on. "I'm not Catherine." She spoke confidently.
"Cut the crap. This time I was involved, Catherine. I'm very thorough." Xiomara spoke softly. "For instance, the only reason you're sitting pretty is because you think you've got something on me. Well, allow me to enlighten you."
She pressed a button on a nearby remote, and the open window that spilled Godin's sunlight into the room simply switched off. Catherine's eyes widened in fear as she realised.
"This isn't the Godin Star Hotel. The Gastly you released is going to send whatever friends you have on a wild ghost chase, Catherine. It's in your best interest to talk, now." Xiomara spoke softly.
Catherine closed her eyes, worried for herself, and worried for her friends.
= = = = = = = =
As Saleme and Hillary arrived at the group, Nix noticed them and ran over. "Chuck is-" She began, as Hillary's face grew stony and fierce.
In a single movement, she released Betty, her Scolipede, and jumped atop her, galloping towards the hateful crowd. A few turned and yelled at her to stop, but she braced herself and Betty jumped, clearing both her and Hilary over the crowd. Landing in the circle a short distance from Chuck, Hillary dismounted, and used a Revive on the Gastly.
"I know Catherine. Follow me to Saleme." She spoke softly, as the Gastly nodded.
After this, Hillary's eyes fell to Chuck's, as he cowered on the ground, shaking. The meds had wore off, and he was now a human in a freakish fused form.
"Chuck. Chuck. Come on, you're coming with me." She spoke confidently.
Chuck looked up at her, his eyes full of remorse for the way he'd acted previously. "Hillary...I...I'm sorry.." He began, but she cut him off with a smile.
"You were drugged. We're unharmed. Help us tear this corrupt region apart for what it is, Chuck. We need you."
He blinked gratefully, as she turned to the crowd. "Betty! Steamroller!"
The Scolipede rolled into a huge wheel shape at high speed, and the crowds parted pretty quickly as she dove forward after Betty, Chuck and the Gastly in tow. Once she'd cleared the crowd, she hopped atop Betty once more, petting her neck, galloping back towards Saleme and Nix.
"Angry crowds, guys, we all gotta get somewhere safe. Got Chuck, got the Gastly. Let's go!" She spoke, charging ahead on her Scolipede, Chuck sprinting alongside her on all fours.
Nix looked at Saleme, nonplussed. "She's...she's pretty focused when she's mad, huh?" She spoke, before running after the two.

“He bids us make use of his doorways,” K’oueh said evenly to his partner, Larry. He filched the locator ball out of his hands with accurate swiftness. He tossed it between his hands quickly as the duo walked toward the elevator. K’oueh wore a poker face the entire wait. Bing! As the doors opened, he gestured politely for Larry to enter first then followed suit. He cleared his throat quietly before the doors closed and the elevator began its long descent.
“ooooooOOOOOOOhhhhHHHHHHH YEAAAAH~” He shouted, closing his fist and raising it in excitement. K’oueh pulled his pokenav out of his pocket and flashed it to Larry. On the screen flashed ‘SASHA WINTERS’. “That’s what ya call a plan well done!” Another excited gesture. “Sucks about this locator ball though,” He groaned. He gazed down at it as he spun it on his index finger. Bing!
The elevator stopped. As the doors opened, opposite from Larry and K’oueh stood an eldery woman. She was dressed in professional attire, minus the heels. She offered a sweet smile to both the boys then shuffled inside. “Hiya boys, how ya doin’? Been such a good day all day, hasn’t it?” She tweeted, her voice shrill like a bird. She turned around and waved one last time at a coworker before the doors closed.
The aura in the elevator dropped almost immediately. “Report,” The woman said, her voice booming with much more bass than before.
“I’ve obtained the clearance necessary to find our targets. As soon as we return back to base, we’ll begin cross-examining potential candidates,” K’oueh responded keeping his answers concise.
“Excellent,” She responded just as concise. She pressed the button of the next floor. She began laughing in an annoying and shrill way. Bing! “That’s the funniest joke I’ve ever heard! The Magnemite.. and Miltank.. and the-the Machamp!” She spoke through fits of shrill giggles while shuffling onto her floor. “See ya later~” She called as the elevator doors closed.
As the doors closed, K’oueh let out a sigh. “Larry. I’ll confide in you. For an unknown reason, she is one of the scariest wome- no, people in this region,” He began. “I think she’s a devil. Her name is Astrid Larsen.” Bing! “Finally, ground level. Let’s get outta here.” K’oueh hurried out of the building and onto the desolate streets. He looked around to ensure they were alone then met Larry’s gaze. Kadabra popped out of his pokeball. “I’m gunna head back to base and get crunching on this pokenav,” He said, while fidgeting with the device. “I’ve just paid you for your muscle. If you double check, you’ll notice there’s also an advance for our next mission. You’re free to do whatever you want until then,” K’oueh explained.

“Routine number 3?” Deandre repeated incredulously. “You can’t be serious,” He groaned watching it take place. “Use the weights to your advantage,” the Detective called out to Gen. Tso.
Gen. Tso grunted in response and crossed his forearms in an ex to defend against the fiery attacks. They lessened the damage but he still took damage as he skid backwards to a halt. One of his arm weights hung off his arm, broken.
“Disarm only the broken weights. Keep the rest on,” Deandre said, removing one weight from his right arm. “I’m right there with you,” He reminded.
Gen. Tso complied with his trainer and dropped one of the weights onto the ground. It left a small crater in the ground. He lifted both hands in clenched fists, and let out a slow flurry of punches with his right hand. With one weight down, he’s quickened ever so slightly. He looked back at Blaze and pointed at his chest. He dashed toward him without his trainer’s order.
Deandre grinned, his eyes trained onto Gen. Tso. He looked up to Zuku, “You gave yours numbers? I’ve made mine silent gestures!” He taunted, as Gen. Tso closed the distance between him and Blaze. His feet burst with flames before he jumped into the air and came down with a fiery kick. During Gen. Tso’s descent, the flames disappated and his feet began glowing blue. He landed a couple meters away from Blaze, as the rocks between them shot out of the ground and jettisoned toward Blaze.

Larry looked back at Barry once more before following K'oueh to the elevator, taking note of his surroundings the entire time. Might need to remember the layout at a later date. As the doors opened, Larry walked inside and leaned against the back wall as he waited for his business partner to join him. As K'oueh celebrated and showed him the pokenav, Larry nodded. "Guess he seems like a man of his word, for now."
As the elevator stopped, and they were joined by the elderly woman, Larry simply kept quiet and let K'oueh do all the talking. There was something about her aura that just didn't sit right with him. Soon she was back in character and making her way off of the elevator, and Larry smiled as well to help along the ruse. Once the doors closed, Larry's face immediately shifted to that of confusion.
“Larry. I’ll confide in you. For an unknown reason, she is one of the scariest wome- no, people in this region,” He began. “I think she’s a devil. Her name is Astrid Larsen.”
"Well.......if there's any proof that the conspiracy freaks are right, that would be it," he grumbled. Once they were finally at ground level, Larry followed him out of the building, looking around to make sure there were no witnesses before Gengar reappeared standing beside him. "Well, in that case," Larry began, folding his arms across his chest. "This tournament's had my attention since I first heard about it. I'm thinkin' it should be fun, hopefully."
==============
Zuku watched as Gen. Tso used the weights to defend against the attack, dropping the ones that ended up broken. He looked at the crater left from the impact and smirked. He couldn't help but respect a pair of opponents like this. As Gen. Tso closed the distance, Blaze braced himself for the incoming Flare Blitz, that is until the opponent appeared to change tactics and gained some distance, to which Blaze took the opportunity to flip backwards, using his talons to sharpen the claws on his left foot this time, completing the set with Hone Claws.(Atk+1, Acc+1)
"Oh, that was simply an audible, Detective," Zuku smiled in response to Deandre's comment. "Our instincts will take care of the rest. Like this Stone Edge," he said and almost as if on cue, Blaze leapt to the side to dodge the initial wave of rocks before he himself jettisoned through the air, his foot stretched outright as he easily carved through the rocks and sped toward Gen. Tso.

Woof would dive out of the way catching Puppy as the gaomon had been talking to the two other digimon only to be sucked into the air by the force of the hat. “I gotcha buddy!” he shouted landing next to Beelzemon with a very dizzy Puppy.
Andromon would attempt to fire his missiles at the hat only for them to be sucked in. “G-gyah what are you doing” he said landing his blade in the ground but the bullets hitting him knocked it lose causing him to head straight towards the hat.
Saleme looked at Larry. “When from what I can see your both hackers you the rookie over there and this weirdo…” Saleme muttered staring at the hacker who was now panicing. “Larry you and the rookie over there got two options you can come back to the office with me otherwise I can take you back Kyoko gonna want to know how involved in this both of you are…” he mumbled.

Saleme gave Nix a nod. “Hilary is coming far from just being Evanna assistant” Saleme muttered as he followed along before his pokegear started ringing “shes rushing though…” Saleme stated before picking up his pokegear. Josephine was on the other end of the phone.
“Saleme, things are getting rough over at Kalos the branch manager is demanding that you drop out the tournament and get out of the Godin region he wants everything you have manufactured and all your notes on the situation” Josephine muttered
“Tell Mr Grant that I am not leaving his daughter can vouch for me not being responsible for any of the outbreaks just ask Sophie plus I sent you guys most of my research he isn’t getting anymore not with the mole running around” Saleme growled.
A Small Emoji of Barry face would appear on ‘Sasha Winters’
“Action baby!” Barry voice rang out as the Emoji pointed up at the two. “My boys you currently still my assistants and I got a hefty task for the dopey muscled one you know which one you are” Barry voice rang out out of the pokegear as an image of Saleme and Nix appeared on it.
“My boy Sally here developed a pokemon enhancer which he distributed with the help of Nix to the pokemon centre I need his notes on it to make sure it not allowing pokemon trainers to cheat in the competition because the enhancers suppose to only boost immunity to viruses and eliminate any that the pokemon was suffering with but you never know look at Saleme he looks like the sneaky sneaky kind!” barry voice rang out. As an emoji of Larry wearing a butler outfit came on the screen. “Well Koko my boy send Alfred out to get Saleme notebook for me will ya and maybe I’ll provide with an upgrade to the device in return hehe” Barry chuckled before the screen shut off.
“Hmm Evenna hogging the spot light lets shake it up a little” Barry laughed in his office typing away his screens would look onto the two blazikens that had been going at it.
The battle barrier around the two would flash as Barry face appeared on it. “Blake here shaking things up a little this flaming birds are going to be playing a new type battle we are introducing with the grand prize being this” Barry shouted as he held out what looked like a locator ball. A emoji of Deandre head with 800 points next to it appeared on the battle barrier as the same did for Zuku. “Coordination contest battle royals!” Barry shouted striking his signature poses that got his fan girls all hyped up. “To put it simple y’all gotta impress the fans baby make their hearts throb ya dig” Barry shouted giving the audience a wink.
“The more impressive of a display y’all put on the lower your enemies points will go so make those blaziken fight but make way more spectacular give em the old razzle dazzle boys!” Barry shouted as his face vanished from the battle barrier.

“Tournament, huh?” K’oueh mulled. “They’re a couple contestants worth looking out for,” He began, scrolling through his pokenav. Masquerading as Sasha Winters, the Phantom Thief had more information than ever! “Kinchai Mfune; Greninja and Blastoise both look pretty tough. Detective Arglye; Blaziken and a recent addition of Garchomp. He’ll be modestly formidable. Saleme Speyers; personality wise you might count him out but he’s a stickler for battles and he’ll find a way to win. No matter how tough it seems on him. If you come into contact with Speyers or any of his friends, keep a low profile. They’re pieces of the chess board I haven’t touched yet,” He explained. /before he had time to elaborate, his pokenav buzzed.
“Action baby!” Barry voice rang out as the Emoji pointed up at the two.
“My boys you currently still my assistants and I got a hefty task for the dopey muscled one you know which one you are” Barry voice rang out out of the pokegear as an image of Saleme and Nix appeared on it.
“My boy Sally here developed a Pokémon enhancer which he distributed with the help of Nix to the Pokémon center. I need his notes on it to make sure it’s not allowing Pokémon trainers to cheat in the competition because the enhancers are supposed to only boost immunity to viruses and eliminate any that the Pokémon was suffering with… but you never know. Look at Saleme, he looks like the sneaky, sneaky, kind!” Barry voice rang out.
As an emoji of Larry wearing a butler outfit came on the screen. “Well Koko my boy send Alfred out to get Saleme notebook for me, will ya? Maybe I’ll provide an upgrade to the device in return, hehe.” Barry chuckled before the screen shut off.
“Speak of the devil…” K’oueh said with a grin plastered on his face. “I don’t think Saleme is the type to cheat… I’ve been keeping tabs on him ever since the Schism incident half a year ago. He’s a goody-two shoes. Do retrieve those notes though,” He said, scratching his chin. He gestured toward Kadabra first than back to Larry.
A confirming grunt from Kadabra was heard before he lifted his spoon toward Larry. A deep voice boomed within his mind, it was the voice of Kabadra speaking for his trainer.
‘When you retrieve the notebook, we’ll make a copy before giving it back to Barry. The notes might be useful.’
“I’ll be back at base.”
~~
“It’s turned into a beauty contest,” the Detective groaned. He preferred a straight up contest. Gen. Tso on the other hand screeched with joy. He loved to flex and make a fight beautiful. He was a showboat. “Gen. Tso! Drop the weights. You’ll need your full speed for this one,” Deandre called out watching as Blaze sped toward the duo.
Gen. Tso ripped off the remaining weights. Each left a modest crater behind as it fell to the sandy floor. (Speed: went from -5 to +1). By now, Blaze was right in front of him. “Faux counter!” Deandre yelled after dropping his own weights into the sand.
In hardly enough time, Gen. Tso maneuvered away from his opponent and back flipped to safety. His wrists flared and ankles roared. His fire burned bright and hot. Gen. Tso punched his fists together lightly, and each time his knuckles connected a blaze grew around him.
“I know you guys were holding back, trying to grasp how serious we were,” Deandre called out to his opponent. “We’re getting serious now, so I suggest you do the same.” He looked over at Gen. Tso who grunted at his trainer. With a small nod, he continued his spiel. “Do you know how hot each color in the fire is?”
The flames around Gen. Tso burned a cherry red. “Gen. Tso is just under 2,000 F.” The heat grew more intense, the colors changing to a clear orange. “Now he’s hovering around 2,200 F,” Deandre explained, gesturing toward his partner who calmly stood amidst the flames. With a visible amount of effort, the flames changed color again. “Dazzling, aren’t they?” Deandre asked, pointing out the white hue on the flames. “He’s almost at 2,700 F.”
Without another word of stalling, Gen. Tso took off around the field. The white flames changed to blue. “He still needs a few moments before going max power in his normal form,” the Detective admitted sheepishly as Gen. Tso zipped back and forth throughout the battle field. The sand danced throughout the air as Gen. Tso tried to reach as many angles as possible within a fifteen second span. Almost like afterimages, the sand he left behind began to sprout up like glass mirrors.
Gen. Tso skidded to a stop on the opposite side of Blaze. When both Pokémon looked into the mirrors, some were more concave or convex than normal resulting in a fun house vibe. “It’s time for guerrilla tactics, Gen. Tso! Hide and smack Blaze with a poison jab when he’s least expecting it!” This time, Gen. Tso didn’t grunt. He became one with the field, expertly hiding behind one of the mirrors. He planned on ambushing Blaze when he got close enough.

"Where is she, Gastly?" Nix asked the Ghost, as they ran through the bizarrely quiet hotel lobby. Hillary looked around, and spied an open elevator. On the floor of it, lay a small cupcake.
"This....this is weird." She said quietly.
"Don't go near that. It could be a-" Nix began.
"An obvious trap, yes." Xiomara finished, smiling as the others jumped at her presence. Gastly shook in anger as he saw Catherine gagged and tied to a rolling chair behind her. "She's yours, right? She did you proud. Didn't speak once."
Xiomara let a Pokeball loose from her hand, and a Tsareena appeared in the empty hotel lobby. "Real commendable."
She kicked Catherine's chair, and Catherine let out a muffled scream as she toppled to the marble floor, still tied to the chair. Nix ran to her, as Hillary squared up to Xiomara.
"Who....who ARE you?" She asked, her voice quavering with rage. Chuck stood at her side, snarling at Xiomara.
Xiomara winked back. "I'm who they send in when it gets real, REAL bad. And you shouldn't have him, should you? Naughty, really. Red really shoulda kept him on a tighter leash. More drugs, less-"
She broke off as Chuck snarled in rage and charged at her. As his claws scratched against the marble floor, Xiomara did not flinch, as Chuck was met with a kick in mid air from the Tsareena. With a yelp, he was sent back into some furniture, and he did not get back up.
Xiomara grinned. "Do I throw the Pokeball now? I mean, he's weakened, right? So I can catch him?"
She looked over at the Gastly who was trying to free it's trainer, but was unable to due to it's ghost state. Nix was struggling with the knots, too, while Catherine kept her eyes tightly closed, in shame.
"Pathetic." Xiomara smiled. "Absolutely pathetic."
