Eideara blinked as Sukobe was ran into and everyone seemed to comment on the idea of pickpockets.
“Maybe check your pockets just to be safe, Whiskers? I probably should have warned you that some poorer, younger sire can be sticky fingered. Another fine example of our race- the children can be thieves and the adults, slavers and drug pushers.” She signed an exhausted sigh.
She raised an eyebrow at Larry’s ‘tude, but surmised that it might be hard for him to see Miras city long after she was dead- it had definitely slipped downhill again. She was about to say something until Saleme began babbling.
“I don’t take my own advice? What do you mean-“ she began, frowning. Tired or not, she’d happily give this little man a slap if he was going to cheek her in her own city. Her eyes widened as he mentioned “craving a shark”.
Her eyes met Larrys. He was the only shark now- they’d long gone extinct, rumours flying that after Miras love was gone and replaced by the pretender king, that the sharks were exiled- or likely assassinated.
She crouched down to Salemes level. “You mean Queen Mira, don’t you, Saleme?” She said, softly, wiping his cheek. She darent look at Larry again. She couldn’t imagine the pain. “Yes, we need to get you somewhere safe-“
“Lady Eideara!” A small voice rang out, as a carriage rattled down the side street towards them.
“Oh good, my plan worked.” Eideara muttered to herself, looking up the building. She’d sent a vine through the guttering, so that above the building, a small but lurid pink flower was giving off their location to the right kind of sire- one of her people. “Friends, this Penfold. Penfold, help me get Saleme into the cart. We can rest at my...palace.”
She paused while saying this, because while it WAS a palace, it felt braggy and weird in this situation to bring it up- with a livid shark, somber beast man and delirious human.
Penfold, however, was looking at Sukobe in wonder. “Lady Eideara...I know you said you wanted no fuss, but- I’ve been counting.”
Eideara, huffing with the effort of carrying Saleme to the cart herself (thanks Penfold) barely heard him. “What?” She said.
“This beast man is officially the 100th you’ve bought and freed from slavery!” Penfold grinned.
Eideara dropped Saleme like a sack of potatoes (luckily into the cushion lined cart) and went violently red.
“Penfold.” She hissed, beside herself with fury and embarrassment. “Whisk- Sukobe is a free man- and I’ve TOLD you- no fuss. It’s not special or celebratory to oppose the drugs or slavery of Aquarius- it’s just carrying on Mira’s wish. Granted, it’s gotten harder as of late, but...”
Her gaze dropped to the floor. Penfold looked apologetic and sheepish, and headed back to the cart, ready to drive. She addressed Sukobe and Larry, while barely looking at them.
“Hop in if you want. We’re headed to my palace for some R&R. Whisk- Sukobe, if you’re missing something and want to go after that kid, promise me you’ll be careful- and follow the pink flowers. That’ll lead you back to us. Same deal for you, Larry, if you have business here. Head along with us now, or meet us later. Follow the flowers.”

As the group began to utter talk of himself being pickpocketed, Sukob brushed it off with a low growl. “I have no currency worth value here,” He admitted. He emptied his pockets in a rare and brief moment of transparency. An array of small explosives ranging from smoke, blood, and poison to shrapnel and the old-fashioned explosion. “The mongrel ran into me and I let him walk away, so we should probably do the same,” He said before pausing at the sound of a small voice beckoning.
Sukob watched as Penfold approached. Clearly seemed to be one of her servants. He looked him up and down and surmised he probably wouldn’t be too much of a threat. “Eideara, you must live lavishly in this la-“
“This beast man is officially the 100th you’ve bought and freed from slavery!” Penfold grinned.
Sukob narrowed his eyes at the Sire servant but before he could respond Eideara swiftly reprimanded him. Soon, she climbed aboard the carriage along with Saleme. She offered Larry and Sukob the chance to explore the city on their own, with the promise of staying safe. He shook his head and climbed aboard. “No thanks. If left to my lonesome in this capital, I’m liable to start more trouble than necessary.”
~~
The young sire and his friends were several blocks down the alleys by now. They skidded to a stop and hid behind a dumpster.
“Did you get anything?!” A hammerhead hollered.
“Quiet, quiet, quiet, don’t let nobody hear us!” A tiger said in a hushed voice.
“Feast your eyes!” The nurse grinned, revealing the pot pocketed from Sukob.
A blood bomb and a small patch of fur. Instantly their faces fell. The hammerhead slapped the back of the nurse’s head making him drop the loot. The bomb exploded, splattering blood all over the young Sire sharks. They all let out a bellowing shriek in fear and under the impression it was their blood they fell to the floor in perceived agony.
On a rooftop above, a chained Beastman catches the fur after it fluttered away from the boys. Slowly, he brings it to his nose and inhales before his eyes widen. Immediately, he rushes to his slave master and drops it at his feet.

I have no currency worth value here. The mongrel ran into me and I let him walk away, so we should probably do the same."
Larry simply shook his head. Back home, such weaponry displayed so casually would quickly grab the attention of the high-rolling, big players of the underground Black Market, known collectively as the Black Shiver. Any young Sha knew the value of such items. If Larry had stuck around, maybe--
“Follow your advice and tell him after I maybe head over heels for an elf but you’re the one craving a shark”
Larry's eyebrow gave the slightest twitch as this comment reached his ears, as he tried to figure out where exactly Saleme was looking. Cazzo? Sharks are extinct.........just these watered down, mi-ci-o, he paused mentally as he dragged out the insult in his native tongue before taking a second to keep himself calm.
“I don’t take my own advice? What do you mean-“
Larry frowned as she paused to meet his gaze. Wait........he didn't mean me when he said shark?"
“You mean Queen Mira, don’t you, Saleme?”
At the mere mention of her name, Larry could feel his body instantly tense up. A sudden swelling of emotions rattled up inside him. The same mixed shroud of emotions he felt when quella Puttana reared her really ugly head. At the same time, he couldn't tell if Saleme was screwing with him or not. He shook the ensuing thoughts from his head as Saleme snapped out of it just as Penfold arrived and began to go on about slavery. Good thing Zuku wasn't here to see this happening to his people all over again.
Whisk- Sukob is a free man- and I’ve TOLD you- no fuss. It’s not special or celebratory to oppose the drugs or slavery of Aquarius- it’s just carrying on Mira’s wish. Granted, it’s gotten harder as of late, but...”
Larry watched Eidara as she had her back and forth with her servant. When she first brought up her palace, he thought maybe she was living off of the labors and the half-cocked businesses and slave trade rampant in the city, reaping the benefit of these people's broken backs. But under the surface, seemed she was more. At least someone was keeping Mira's legacy alive.
When she offered Larry and Sukob the chance to explore the city on their own, Larry looked at Sukob as the Beastman turned the offer down. More trouble than necessary, he repeated to himself. He wanted to do some scouting, find the underground hotspots......but a blind search would get unwanted attention. He needed more info from this woman first if he was gonna do this right. Slipping his hands into his pockets, he climbed into the carriage as well. "Later," he said, referring to the aforementioned business.
Tony climbed in as well, tapping at the glowing screen on his forearm. "The warp knocked out my connection to the server.....appears I am stuck here for a while, while the system reboots and reestablishes a connection."

Eidear nodded. “Let’s go, then. Hit it, Penfold!”
They trundled away from the area, and took a quick tour of the back streets of Aquarius. As Eidearas carriage was nondescript and shaded, they wouldn’t be seen, and gazes wouldn’t linger. They passed through a bazaar, with strange fruit and a whole desert worm carcass on a barbecue spike making the streets smell fragrant. They passed by a few beast men carrying shopping for two smaller chatting sire ladies. Eideara frowned, but they pushed on. They soon arrived at a large, stately gate. It looked slightly out of place.
It was covered in graffiti. Some were just profanity, others death threats. “BEAST LOVER” and “FREAK HOUSE” were among the least profane.
“Every one is a badge of honour.” Eideara said simply, as they passed through several sets of secure gates, and arrived in the shaded palatial gardens.
The most prominent thing in the running water gardens was a huge statue of Queen Mira. It was adorned with flowers, candles, and a number of beast children were playing nearby it. A few beast ladies looked on fondly.
“Last one of its kind- after she died, there was a shattering spree.” Eideara said sadly. “They really captured her likeness. Each day I see this and I know I’m following in her footsteps.”
As they exited the carriage, a beast woman jogged across the grounds towards her. “Deara!” She shouted, waving.
“Nali! What’s wrong?” Eideara replied, stepping forward.
“Marcuss needs more stomach settling green tea- he’s still on a come down from the nectar. Are these new guests?” She added, casting a wary eye on the new people.
“Penfold? I presume you were listening?” Eideara spoke quickly.
“I’m on it, my lady!” Penfold replies cheerily, turning the carriage around and heading out in search of green tea.
“Yes, these people will be staying a little while- Saleme, the human- isn’t feeling so well.”
Nali smiled. “I’ve missed you, ‘Deara- it’s been nonstop since you’ve been gone.”
“Sorry, Nali- I’ve forgotten to introduce you. Guys, this is Nali- she’s a doctor but was captured by sire and sold into...slavery. She stays here and cares for the people recovering from nectar addiction.”
Nali gave the boys a wan smile. “It’s a pleasure. Ah, I think you’ve all made quite the entrance- think you might have woken the house up.”
From every window and door of the palace, beast men, women, children, and sire of all ages were looking out at them, a few waving, most smiling. A few sire children began happily playing with the beast children around the statue of Mira. Eideara rolled her eyes. “They’re all so nosey, honestly.”
“Welcome to my home, boys. Make yourselves at home- as you can probably see, all are welcome here.”

Saleme had remained silent throughout the trip but mentally his mind was like a hurricane a banging headache that showed no sign of letting up. As they got to Mira lavish home he couldn’t help but be captivated by the statue of Mira hearing Eiderah talk about how it really caught her beauty something slipped out. “Engulf it in a water bubble…she was always engulfed in one” Saleme randomly blurted out. Staring up at the statue triggered another flash as Salemes eyes glazed over he would pull out his book. Turning the pages back and forth looking for a specific page it would seem. That wasn’t the case, however, he was making music with the pages the same pages were being turned back and forth in such a way that the rustling of the pages to untrained ear would just sound like rustling but to someone who understood music, a pattern would be noticed. “A statue doesn’t befit Mira she was never silent she was loud but gentle never silent” Saleme muttered staring deeply at the pages of his book. Tracing his hand over a blank page in his book musical notes would begin appearing. Followed by the words. ‘The cursed water. The song of hope’ “Only Mira could find the one drop of hope in a sea of despair” Saleme muttered.

As they began to move through the city, Larry scrunched himself in the corner up against the window. Onlookers couldn't see in, but that didn't stop him from seeing out and taking in the sights. Every street or back alley they took, the children, the business owners, the slave masters and their slaves. Who seemed to be passing through, and who appeared to be posted up. No detail wasn't important enough. Even the gates they passed through, he examined thoroughly and made mental notes. Some of the graffiti was new, but most of it seemed to be pretty old. This Eidara, it appeared that she wasn't afraid to put her neck on the line to openly sympathize with the beast folk. The strength that had to take someone of her background.....he found himself gaining more respect for her by the minute.
As the carriage passed through the grounds, the statue of Queen Mira almost immediately caught his attention. Having to look at her descendant was one thing.......everything around him seemed to drown out as his focus was directed on the statue alone.
"Last one of its kind- after she died, there was a shattering spree.”
He didn't seem to hear much else, but this lone statement seemed to cut through to him. He caught himself clenching his fists as his anger began to boil again, but after a deep breath, it subsided. She didn't deserve this. Her legacy all but trashed, save for this lone girl and her staff, fighting to repair it.
“Engulf it in a water bubble…she was always engulfed in one”
Larry looked at Saleme. He sounded as if talking from experience. Perplexing. One minute, he seemed like the old Saleme, and the next, this new kid who was the former's spitting image. Another thing keeping Larry from thinking straight. He needed Saleme to tell him exactly what was going on, yet he couldn't, not in his current state.
"Only Mira could find the one drop of hope in a sea of despair”
"The hell are you playing at, Saleme....." Larry muttered under his breath. His first instinct was to grab the kid and literally shake the info out of him.......but one thing about living multiple lifetimes, he knew trying to force things would only make things worse. This time, he would practice patience. As hard as it seemed that would be.
As the carriage stopped and the gang began to step out, Larry took one more long look at the statue. If he wasn't determined to fix this city before, he was now. It's broken.......everything is broken, just like the other statues. But I'm going to give her some help, he thought to himself before climbing out to meet the others. Taking note of the reactions from Eidara and her two companions, Larry surmised that this current nectar was potent stuff, albeit in the wrong way. He brushed off the introduction, his eyes darting around at the many pairs of eyes on them at the moment. "Eid--" he began before stopping to clear his throat. This was her place, so he felt he should give a genuine attempt at being polite. "Lady Eidara, was it? I require a map, a quiet room, some leftover nectar residue if you have it, and anyone with knowledge of who runs the nectar operation. With all of these things, I'm certain I can bring you progress toward getting your city back."
Tony, who had been silent the entire time, looked over at Larry. Tony may have isolated his own emotions, but he could still read Larry like an open book, even through his composed exterior. A feeling that was still familiar to him, even after all these years........pain.

Alessia stood before the statue of Mira, simply admiring it in all of it's glory. It gave off this inspiring aura she just couldn't shake off. "She's so beautiful." The female softly admitted beneath her breath. She gathered her hands together, as her were fingers intertwined along one another. In all respects, Alessia gently bowed her head as she offered a moment of silence.
Hana slowly approached her companion, kicking out of her mech suit rather aggressively. She huffed, as she closed the gap between she and Alessia. "Ales, c'mon we don't have much time!" She exclaimed, as her arms extended forward to slide off the goggles that rested over her eyes. "I want to find those punks that destroyed my field and just booked it!"

As the group departed, Sukob peered out the window and took in the sights. It was the first time he’s been here as a visitor, not a warrior. As such, he didn’t plague himself with strategizing. Instead, he could smell through the bazaar, the streets’ aroma was a mixed sweet and savory. Sire heckled over prices and laughed throughout, well all those whose mouths weren’t already full of food. Casual peace like this was new to him. Though he mostly spot joy, his eyes lingered on the Sire women using his brethren like cattle. The sour taste in his mouth that’s plagued him ever since they’ve arrived in this wretched city has returned.
No sooner, the group left the bazaar and slowed. Leaning over to get a glimpse, he noticed the graffiti-laden gate. He didn’t say anything but looked up to Eideara.
“Every one is a badge of honour.” Eideara said simply, as they passed through several sets of secure gates, and arrived in the shaded palatial gardens.
Sukob nodded slowly, piecing more and more information together about her. Truly, she went against the grain of Sire he knew. She continued on about a statue of Mira, the old Queen. Suddenly, he felt a tense aura surround the carriage and turned to look at Larry, who was clenching his fists. The group spoke fondly of her, but Sukob couldn’t care less. Thankfully, the carriage came to a halt.
As they exited the carriage, a beast woman jogged across the grounds towards her. “Deara!” She shouted, waving.
Sukob looked back toward Eideara. His brow furrowed. “Certainly she isn’t your slave,” Sukob said lowly, before balking at the affirmation that Nali is, in fact, a doctor mending the nectar addicts back to health. Even more incredulously, he looked over to the beastpeople of all ages staring back at them. Its been a while since he’s been around so many of his kind at once. The sour assassin let out a sheepish smile, unable to stop it from forming. Then the Sire kids and Beast kids started playing around the statue of Queen Mira. “Touching,” He said solemnly, his voice unwavering. “I didn’t think it possible,” He freely admitted, turning his back to the scene. “For any past transgressions I’ve made against you, I apologize,” Sukob said through clenched teeth. Still difficult for him.
He overheard Larry begin to devise a plan and asks their host for supplies.
”I require a map, a quiet room, some leftover nectar residue if you have it, and anyone with knowledge of who runs the nectar operation. With all of these things, I'm certain I can bring you progress toward getting your city back."
A light bulb flickered in his head, as an idea of his own began to sprout. “I will lend you my assistance if you will have it..” He spoke carefully, glancing back at the playing children of both races. “We aren’t friends, but we can still be comrades in arms.”

“Larry after all this time, you should know already that only one of you is capable of seeing it” Saleme mumbled before gesturing to none other than Eiderah he looks at her before humming a tune of some sorts, suddenly halting this as he shook his head. “I-I knew I would not like him…” he grunted as all trace of the wisdom a mystery had vanished from the boy he was back to being just the librarian all over again. “Ah, when did we get here?” He asked looking somewhat baffled before hearing the two about their trip. “Sukobe can I tag along?” he asked with a cheerful smile it seemed all forms of fatigue had vanished as the connection of the librarian and the old one was gone.

~Uknown Facility. A young man cloaked in white was dashing through several hallways. “I found two of ours!” said the young man as he stopped by a room with several pods in them. “Wow figured they would have their own rooms I guess Rosaline never counted them very high on her list” he muttered before looking back down the hallway stomping his foot rather impatiently. “Hurry up girl I been itching to get in there!” The young man said revealing a cheeky grin as he pulled down his hood “Think they will be mad at me for shooting them I mean you were for a while” he joked. “Oh do not give me that look you became a planet thanks to me” He pointed out.
~Eiderah palace. As Saleme was talking with Sukobe about their next adventure around town he began to flicker. He wasn’t the only one however soon several people were flickering including some of Eiderah most loyal subjects. The book he was carrying suddenly flung open the pages shooting into the sky as the cloaked man from the facility appeared from the book.
“Oh wow who’s this handsome devil!” he shouted landing in front of the flickering Saleme and peering over at him. The young man would pull down his hood revealing the same face only a much messier hairstyle. The young man smirked as he looked over at Larry “First!” he shouted using the element of suprise to his advantage a bang went off a single icicle piercing Larry skull sending him dropping to the floor. “He never was good at being caught by surprise!” he shouted holding his hand out towards Tony. A cane appeared in his hand waving it around and around all of a sudden the young man turned it into a chain like whip. “Second!” he shouted skating towards Tony who attempted to defend himself only to find his mechanical implants were suddenly not working. Saleme smirked at him as he skidded downward. He shot forward the chain sending it rapping around Tony neck and tightening immediately with a quick tug a snap was heard. “Thank Ana turning them off” said the young man now returning his chain into its cane form. Tonys body fell down the spark of life in his eyes completely gone.
He turned his focus to Eiderah, Sukobe and the others now, he remained silent he seemed to be passing some form of judgement. “I was only here for those two but I guess I can make an exception” he said planting his hands on the floor a sudden eruption of icicles were sent shooting straight towards Sukobes who manage to dodge it fairly easily. “Oh you got skills impressive” said this messy haired Saleme as he took a glance over at Eiderah. Pointing up at the sky with his pistol “I am really sorry but I cannot just leave you all alive in here it wouldn’t be right” He said before firing a shot up into the sky. The shot exploding in the sky sent out several icy tendrils into the air. They shot towards Eiderah and Sukobe in a serpent like manor everyone one of them attempting to impale the two. As Sukobe and Eiderah were making their attempts to Stay alive this messy haired Saleme took his second shot at Eiderah spotting how she was more focused on protecting the people in the palace “Im so sorry but it will only hurt for a second!” he shouted before coating her feet in a layer of ice so she couldn’t avoid the tendril that was going straight towards her chest. Sukobe on the other hand seemed to be having no problem fighting of the tendrils almost hitting them away. “Give it up they will just keep seeking you and whoever else is stuck in this hell of a loop” Saleme explained firing several more shots into the sky then finally throwing his cane at Sukobe only for it to explode in a engulfing the wildman in flames. “That is sorted. Ana good job amplifying my powers in here” Saleme spoke before looking up at the sky. “I am on my way back” The young man said “Umm do not be mad but umm we are getting more than just Larry and Tony”
~Uknown Facility One by one the pods that were in the room would open up mist coming out of them as those that had just been butchered by the young man would be revealed to be inside them. Saleme who was lay next to Ana quickly woke up “Okay, I got em out prepare for them to be extremely irritated at me because I did not bother explain anything to them” he warned.
