Rose was anxious that morning. It was her day to return to school and she was getting closer to the time she would have to leave and say good-bye forever. Like her mother, Rose loved school and she didn't want to leave it. Her friends were important to her and she had a feeling that this year was going to be a make it or break it type of scenario. Rose sighed as she pulled on her favorite pair of skinny jeans before pulling on a white tank top and a dark gray cardigan. She pulled on her dark gray heeled boots and then picked up her wand. She slipped it inside her boot before she grabbed her owl's cage. Artemis, her barn owl, was currently sleeping soundly.
Rose went down the stairs, careful not to step on Crookshanks, her mother's cat. She watched as Hugo bounced around the kitchen, excited to be going to his fourth year of Hogwarts. Setting Artemis' cage down by the door, Rose turned and sat down at the kitchen table. Breakfast was a blur of smiling faces and chit chat before everyone was in the car and on the way to King Cross Station. Rose helped her brother onto the train and waved her parents good-bye as the train pulled out of the station. Watching her brother run off to find his friends, Rose began to wander the halls looking for her friends and cousins. She heard the whispers "Who is that beautiful girl?", and ignored them. She was too busy looking for the people she cared about.

Scorpius had started out his day like every other day, alone. His father was always too busy with work and his mother too busy shopping and chatting along with her friends, and the working staff was off for the day. He didn't mind though it wasn't like they were much company when they were around. He put on his muggle clothes, a muscle shirt with blue jeans, before going downstairs for breakfast. He was pretty excited to return to Hogwarts, and to see his friends. School was more like the home he didn't have.
After finishing his breakfast he had quickly looked at the time, and upon noticing he was a little late had started rushing to get his things together. He had tucked his wand in his back pocket and spelled the things to his car. At least out of all the staff that was the one person who was actually working that day, his father seeing to it that he had some way of getting to the train.
This year as he had boarded the train there was no one to see him off. His father had apologized greatly but Scorp had just waved him off not really wanting to hear the excuses. Once he loaded his owl, and trunk onto the train he slowly wandered the corridor looking for a compartment that would welcome him in.

Rose was walking around the train, still trying to find her friends or at least one of her cousins. One would think that they would be easy to find, but Rose couldn't find them anywhere. She really wanted to see Albus since she had not spoken to him in a while since they had both been busy that summer studying. Rose was the smartest witch at Hogwarts, always getting the best grades because of it. As she was walking down the corridor, she wasn't paying attention. Absorbed in her thoughts she didn't see the pair of first years running down the corridor and nearly was knocked flat because of it. Tripping, she ended up bumping into and landing on someone, having accidentally pushed them down.
Rose opened her eyes, groaning from the pain that was emanating in her knee. She looked down at the person below her and instantly knew that it was Scorpius Malfoy. Her entire face flushed red and she struggled to untangle herself before she was suddenly being hauled off of Malfoy and into the beloved arms of her cousin Albus. "You stay away from my cousin, Malfoy." Rose hide herself in her cousin's arms, peeking out from behind her hair to watch Scorpius' reaction. She had always wondered why there was bad blood between their family's. From what she understood, Draco Malfoy and her Uncle Harry were at peace with each other, despite the differences that they had.

Scorpius had been minding his own business trying to find one of his friends, peeking into each compartment he passed, when suddenly a bunch of first years ran by and someone bumped into him, falling, and dragging him down to the ground with them. He saw the familiar red haired girl, Rose Weasley, and then suddenly she was pulled straight off him and into the arms of Albus Potter.
Scorp stood to his feet not really minding that he was knocked over at all. After all it was the first year's fault in the first place, he didn't have any problems with Rose, and certainly not Albus but they hated him none the less. He looked to Albus raising an eyebrow and made a 'tch' noise. To hell if he was going to give Albus the satisfaction of winning an argument. "I was simply minding my own business Potter." Scorpius stated matter of factually. "She was the one who bumped into me, so get your facts straight." The blonde haired boy stated. "Besides Potter don't you think Weasley can fight her own battles?" he asked curiously. "Or does she need someone to always come to her rescue?"Scorp knew he was being a bit of a jerk, but he wasn't going to be scolded for something that wasn't his fault.

Rose couldn't stand rude people and Scorpius was being rude. She cleared her throat when Albus was about to speak and stood up straight. She had already retrieved her wand and it was clear that she was someone that you did not want to mess with, as beautiful as she was. Rose turned to Albus, clearly about to dish out something that would not want to be missed. She could see the people pressing their faces against their compartments. "Albus, people that talk down on others are not to be bothered with. Besides, we're better than stooping to his level."
Rose was hyper aware of her surroundings and if Scorpius decided to throw an attack, she would be able to block it easily. She was not going to throw the first spell since she had just argued her point in being better than that. Rose laid her hand gently on Albus to stop him from pursuing anything when she spotted the first years. "You there. I am the Gryffindor Prefect that you just knocked over. I know you lot are excited to be on your way to Hogwarts, but please mind yourselves. Someone may not be as pleasant as I am the next time it happens. Now go on about your business, but be careful."
Rose winked at the first years and patted them on their head before she turned them around and gently gave them a shove. As she turned back, the people in the compartments hide from her sights. "Come on Al. Let's go find James." Rose was still prepared to defend herself if need be.
