Watching as students flooding the doors after him, Hiro crossed his arms over his chest with a disappointed pout hanging against his lips. "I thought this was a senior class?" He began, stepping forward and took a glance around the room. "I already apologized for my tardiness, considering I wasn't the assigned homeroom teacher, but for you all is unacceptable. This isn't what I expected from this class." The temporary teacher's lecture was soon cut off by the overhead announcement system. "ATTENTION. Lord Death summons the following students, and their weapon partners, to his office immediately. Isabella Bordeaux. Xiomara Farrante. and Yve Adair." The announcement caused a sigh to release past Mr. Katabana's lips. "Go on."
Isabella quickly rose to her feet without any questions as she began to grab her belongings to store them into her backpack. Howlington extended his arms as he reached for the backpack, easily tossing it over his shoulder as the two left their seating row. As usual, a number of voices arose as discussion had begun surrounding their departure. It seemed as if each of their moves were watched by the entirety of Shibusen. Isabella appeared beside Xio and walked alongside the female. Her view remained forward as she spoke, "First day back and already breaking a promise? That's a new record, Xio." The pale toned female had eventually broke her glance, meeting eye contact with the taller meister. The two held a distinct relationship that was more than chaotic. Taking a deep breath in, Bella glanced down. "I'm sorry. I'm not your mom, who am I to tell you what to do." Her voice had lowered, now speaking in a calmer relaxed tone.
Howlington had managed to tread besides Yve, turning to offer what he would call a smile. "Our last spar was probably months back, but my body still hasn't forgiven me!" The male admitted, a very faint chuckle followed afterwards. From the corner of his eye, the male spotted Isabella and Xiomara exchanging a few words. He also chose to not pry into their business, knowing they have history.
With classes already begun, the halls were deserted. The only sound that could be heard were the footsteps of the teens. At the end of this hallway was their destination which was indicated by a large door marked with a skull and the plate, 'Death Room.' It was nearly impossible for one to miss. Once the group had proceeded through the door, they were led to walk through a tunnel of Torii gates, which are styled to look like guillotines. After that, they reach the main part of the room. The main part of the room is a large round platform with some stairs leading up to it. In the center of the platform is a large mirror with a brass frame with a Shinigami mask on top, where Shinigami usually dwells. Around the platform is a vast desert-like expanse, which looks like it stretches on for eternity. The entire ground around the platform is filled with strange cross-like foundations rising from the ground. A large dark figure stood in the center of the room, pacing back and forth. Once the small group had entered and made their presence known, the figure would turned to face them. Standing tall was Lord Death in an all black attire, a mask covering his face, and obscure large white gloves. "Yes, hi, hello my students! Please all, have a seat. Make yourself comfortable."

Xiomara held her silence while the teacher lightly scolded them on their lateness. She knew he was right, but....she had....totally important reasons why she couldn't be there, right? Pushing the denial deeper, she looked up as the announcement called upon her and some of the others. Perfect.
She got up, helping Raija to the door. As they walked down the hall, she saw the slightly shorter Isabella walk in step with her, and she knew it was coming.
"First day back and already nagging me? I'd say you broke a record too, but this was totally expected, 'Bella." She retorted quietly, keeping her tone similar to Isabella's. The sobering feeling was getting worse for sure, and Bella's annoying, cloying, genuine, decent human concern wasn't helping. Their relationship was...strained, to say the least.
Bella apologised for her remark, and the sincerity of it made Xiomara feel worse.Bella was just so...so GOOD all the time. She was really starting to sober up, now, and the negative emotions were getting too much for her. She wanted to say something short and sharp, to try and make Bella back off.
She nodded towards Howlington, keeping her voice low.
"He seems like a very, very capable weapon. You work fast, don't you?"
The point-scoring vindictive streak she had was short lived, and she regretted saying this the moment she uttered it.
"Ugh, just...just ignore me. Who am I to tell you who to do?" She crossed her arms, still walking.
As they arrived in the expansive office, she marvelled at its majesty all over again. Every time it was breathtaking. Nodding gratefully at Death, she settled herself on a comfy sofa, leaving ample room for Raija.

Raija's stomach growling temporarily subsided as the announcement came on to beckon her and her partner to the principal's office.
The small woman trailed one foot behind Xiomara, walking in rhythm with her steps. Isabella joined them in stride and began to mouth off to her. After a small exchange, Raija stepped in and aggressively poked Isabella. "Leave Mar-Mar alone!" She had no idea who this girl was.
After entering the office, Raija got sidetracked and began to touch everything. Climbing onto one of the gates, she jumped from gate to gate, hanging upside down and swinging by her legs. "Look Mar-mar! I'm high!"
She pointed to Lord death. "Look Mar-mar! A ghost!"

“I’ll just take a spot next to my sweet honey!” Barry hollered with a twirl he pointed at his wonderful partner flashing a smile and winking at her it was the kind of thing that made brainless gals swoon you know, the kind of gals who only care about style and not substance.
As Barry caused a scene up front, Yve kissed her teeth softly while shaking her head. Though initially his behavior bothered her, Yve credited the lad for his ability to diffuse any situation with the taste of his baked treats. Not to mention the two had an uncanny bond when it came to battle. As he reached his saved seat, Yve made sure to bonk him on the head. “Stop interrupting class you buffoon,” She began before munching on a banana nut muffin.
She flipped through her textbook, dropping crumbs as the pages flew by. “We’re on Soul Resonance right now,” Yve answered her partner, tapping the title a couple times with the eraser on her pencil. She propped the muffin in her mouth and looked up at Mr. Katabana as he began lecturing the students on their tardiness. While she understood his reasoning, I’m sure the entire class felt it a bit hypocritical.
"ATTENTION. Lord Death summons the following students, and their weapon partners, to his office immediately.Isabella Bordeaux. Xiomara Farrante. and Yve Adair."
Another deviation from the normal schedule. She glanced at her partner Barry, gesturing for him to rise with her. After gathering her belongings back up, she led Barry out of the classroom. The duo trailed behind the other weapon/partner groups. “I’ve been known to overreact before but something is weird. That guy wasn’t our homeroom teacher, he was just filling in. Now we’ve been called to the office?” She began, though when Howlington slowed pace and joined them she smiled fiercely at his comment.
“Oh yeah?!” She asked, casually punching his shoulder. “Tell you the truth, you’re one of my better sparring partners. Not all Elites are so willing to spar with a common student and most common students are ass at fighting if you ask me…” She admitted, scratching the back of her head sheepishly. She leaned in close to him and spoke in a hushed tone, “do you know if we got in trouble for something?”
As the group came upon their destination, Yve gulped and took a deep breath. “Death Room…” She muttered. As everyone was ushered inside, she placed herself behind the sofa opting to stand in the presence of Lord Death. She looked on at Raija in disbelief, “please Raija, come down from there!” She called in hushed voices trying not to bring more attention to her.
Across town in a breakfast diner, Opal was slurping the last of her orange juice from a straw. “Maskyyyy,” she sang toward him. “I’m done now~” She added, hopping off the stool and onto the floor. She patted her clothes clean, though there was hardly any dirt on her. “Integrity and cleanliness,” She repeated, smiling from ear to ear. “See Masky, I listen to you,” She said matter of factly. Looking from right to left, the young lady scanned the walls for bathroom signs. “I have to pee, I’ll be back,” She said quickly before dashing off.
Being a little lady, the four foot witch scurried between the semi-busy restaurant all the way to the restrooms. As she locked the stall door behind her and sat down, Opal overheard two women enter behind her.
“DWMA has a bunch of star students nowadays,” One shrill-voiced woman cooed.
“I actually hear there are only a couple. Regardless, they’re the cream of the crop. The closest to becoming new Death Scythes.”
“Don’t they have to kill and eat a witch’s soul to do that?”
“Yup. Crazy shit, I don’t think I could ever fight a Witch and live to tell the tale. I’m just not that strong,” the other woman replied with a sigh.
Opal was freaking out in her stall. It took all her willpower to remember Parros’ training to control her breathing in stressful situations. Being young, several situations ran rampant in her mind and very few of them had any sense of logic behind them. “How did they find me? I didn’t even pee yet, omg! I gotta find Masky and get outta here before they cut my head off and drink my blood!” She screamed in her head.
She flung the bathroom door open and with it, the lights in the entire diner flickered off before returning back to normal. Opal raced through the diner until she reached Parros and tugged on his coat, “Can we leave please??? There’re ladies in the bathroom that wanna kill me,” She whispered, forcing the tears to stay welled up in her eyes and not falling down her cheeks.

“Aiiiiiiiy my sweet,I made you the snack so you wouldn’t punish me so” He whined with a cheeky smile on his face. As the class received a much deserved lecture about their tardiness Barry would merely smile blissfully almost as if he wasn’t taking in any of it at all and he honestly wasn’t taking in anything the substitute moaned about. Nothing could ruin his mood when he was sat with his partner not even a lecture from death his self let alone this substitute. “Soul resonance we already know this after all we are in perfect Sync” he cheerfully said before the announcement was made. Barry would grin as he heard the announcement happily following his Meister and bringing his snacks along with him he was wondering however if the group of Meisters were in trouble.
“You have such a conspiracy theory there hehe I bet we are all fine and if not Ill protect you all and make some cookies while doing it” he chuckled before winking at his Meister “extra chocolate chip for you or am I sweet enough” he teased. When Barry and the others finally got inside the office he took a sigh of relief knowing that Death didn’t seem to be in a bad mood he did fear receiving a chop from death after all he heard they hurt more than his meisters chops and Yve had a very strong arm.

Almost immediately, Isabella pushed her lips out into a pout as she heard Xiomara's remark. Surely, she and Howl grew close friends rather rapidly. But she questioned if she were ready to move on from Haseo? Almost hurt by the comment. However, Bella quickly gathered her composer and gave a quick roll of her eyes to the hyperactive female accompanying Xio. She chose to personally not respond, but to proceed through Death's door. Many would feel a sense of intimidation, but for her; she spent some time here. It wasn't new to her, seeing as an elite, she had much to prove to the man himself. "Good afternoon, Lord Death." Isabella greeted as she would respectfully bow before him. The female would take a seat against a single seated couch, crossing her legs, and setting her hands against her lap. She glanced around briefly to watch as Raija hung from the arches that led to the room. Isabella quickly faced forward, embarrassed.
Howling naturally offered a shrug of his shoulders, genuinely unsure of their fate. It was only the first day, he questioned what was done that made the group be called upon by Lord Death. As the group hurdled into the room, Howl quickly greeted and respectfully bowed to Death. He proceeded to motion behind Isabella, sitting against the back of the couch. Despite their surroundings, he had nothing to say. He enjoyed the dynamic of this currently group. It showed everyone's unique potential.
Standing behind Lord Death was Spirit Albarn, as he casually sat against the corner of the desk. The red haired male swung a fist into the air as he caught a glimpse of a student hanging from above. "Hey! Get down from there! You respect this office!" He huffed after his words, shaking his head in disbelief. This is what Shibusen has to offer now? He glanced over at Lord Death, almost as if he were expecting a type of reaction, but to his belief there was none. "This is a serious kinda thing guys. If you can't take it serious.....get out." His voice had dramatically lowered, as his head dropped and his hand had stretched out to point towards the door. Everyone who knew of Spirit, knew of his silly demeanor. It was made oblivious that something was troubling him.
Lord Death offered a simple nod of his head before clearing his throat. "Thank you all for joining me this morning. I wanted to apologize for pulling you out of your studies." He stepped back, closer towards Sprit. "I've gathered you all here today for two reasons. The first being you were all specifically chosen, assuming you'd all be capable of a task we have in mind. We know a few of you personally already. There are a few whom we've heard much improvement from."
Spirit would clear his throat as he rose to his feet. "Franken Stein is missing." He didn't intend to cut off Death, but he couldn't help but beat around the bush.
Slowly turning to face Spirit, Death would slowly nod his head. "Ah..yes. That's the reality of it. Dr. Stein is your home room teacher, and if any have noticed - he wasn't present today."
"This isn't like him." Spirit scoffed beneath his breath.
Death would glance forward at the students before him. "I'm setting you out to find him. I'm hoping you all are up to par with your abilities. If you believe this is too difficult of a task, or you simply do not trust in your abilities - you are free to leave."

Xiomara caught the slight pursing of Isabella's lips in the corner of her eye, and knew she'd hit a sore spot. But why? Why do I feel the need to point score? They were grieving for the same man, but for different reasons. Haseo had been the brother Xiomara had never had, but Isabella was the love of his life.
They were intensely different people. Xiomara found Isabella too uptight and straight-laced, while she knew Isabella found her impulsive and vulgar. Despite this chalk-and-cheese relationship, they'd remained distant but civil, for Haseo's sake. When he passed, however, it hit both of them impossibly hard, and strangely drew them closer together. She knew her drug use worried Bella, but Bella's nagging came across to Xiomara like Bella thought she was better than her. Still, though, it's nice to have someone else in your corner, right?
As they approached the arches, Xiomara thought this through, and was about to apologise when she saw Raija had grabbed onto an arch. Crap, this is MY fault. Get it together, Xio.
"Hey, Rai-Rai." She spoke, smiling at her smaller friend, as she dangled from the arch. Spirit seemed pissed. Too many people wrote Raija off as a "Shy" or "Quiet" weapon, but Xiomara knew better. Raija was as ride-or-die as they come, an absolute badass, and a sister. During the grieving process, she'd been totally cool. Too many people had tried to make it about themselves, somehow, but Raija never did. It was something Xiomara would never forget.
"Come down and sit with me, hon." She smiled, gesturing to a comfy seating area. "When the munchies set in, we'll get Barry to make us something nice." She grinned and turned to listen to the rest of what Death had to say, and blinked. So. A teacher had gone missing. This was serious indeed. Her eyes flew to the back of Isabella's head. This was sounding familiar. She blinked hard, and kept her face impassive.
"Where would you like us to visit first, Lord Death?" She spoke, her arms crossed.

Raija placed her finger to her chin as the party began to scold her. "Ummm...." Her dark hair hanging down like a curtain, she didn't understand why they were telling her to get down. Lord Death himself seemed to be alright with it. People are strange.
After Xiomara invited her to the seat, Rai dropped down, doing a double backflip and sticking the landing. "Safe!" She said standing up straight with her hands out, skipping to her beloved partner's side. "I'm here!" She said grabbing her arm and latching to it. "And ready to eat!"
"Thank you all for joining me this morning. I wanted to apologize for pulling you out of your studies." "I've gathered you all here today for two reasons. The first being you were all specifically chosen, assuming you'd all be capable of a task we have in mind. We know a few of you personally already. There are a few whom we've heard much improvement from."
Zoning out the noise, Raija got lost in Lord Death's appearance. "His hands... are huuuuuuge." She whispered in awe. "He talks... but he has no mouth. Wooooooooooooow."
Xiomara's voice woke her out of her daydream.
"We have to find Frankenstein? What do we win? We shall be the victor!"
-------
As she ran off to the bathroom, Parros pinched the bridge of his mask.
Tapping his feet and leaning on a the wall, he leaned against the wall. As the lights flickered and the Young Witch appeared, he sighed. Waiting a couple seconds, he looked to see if anyone would be chasing her out of the bathroom.
Nothing.
"Let us go Young One. You are not in any danger. Nothing can harm you while I am here." He grabbed her hand and walked out of the diner.
"Now, we must secure our bed for the night." He stood in front of an inn that was across the street from the diner. "Ladies first."

Xiomara smiled at her smaller friend. "We'll eat soon, promise."

A hand punched through a pile of stuffed animals, and a very slight body followed it. Gracie tiptoed out from the pile of stuffed creatures, where she slept, and rubbed her eyes and yawned.
"Good morning, everyone!" She trilled, giggling to herself. Her room was an explosion of cute items....but it was a little....off.
Bowls of pungent sweets and desserts lay on the ground, some spilled over stuffed animals, other with layers of mold on them, each with a bite taken from them, a spoon missing there. Each stuffed animal wasn't placed, they were thrown, limbs splayed, no care taken at all to place them. Some had name tags on, depicting the name of the child she'd originally stole the toy from. A few stuffed animals were torn apart, in the darker corners of the room.
Gracie walked up to a large, ornate mirror, and somehow admired her reflection in its shattered and fractured surface.
"How to spend my day? What do I want to do today?" She lisped sickeningly to herself. She lifted a stained and ripped bear from the floor, and hugged it close to her as if it were brand new. Her eyes flashed and the bear set on fire, acid-green flames licking up its body, illuminating her face horrifically.
She pulled her arms back, and 2 charred buttons and a blacked, white hot zipper fell to the floor.
"Today....I want to destroy."

"As one would imagine, the staff is busy due to it being the first day and all." Lord Death began as he cleared his throat, glancing behind at Spirit. "I don't believe this should be a difficult mission though. We just want to ensure he's okay and brought back safely." Returning his attention back onto the small group of students that sat in front of him. They all seemed to have much potential, only time could tell whenever they show their growth.
Spirit simply offered a nod of his head, "Dunno, try places he would normally be. Stick together, split up, do whatever you want. You all should be grown enough to be able to think on your own." After finishing his statement, the male would cross his arms before pushing his weight onto his feet.
Clearing his throat, there was a brief moment of silence as everyone began to rise from their seats, Death offered a soft nod of his head. "Be careful. If you need me, you know my number!" He chimed.
- - -
The fiery duo rose onto their feet, offered a simple bow to their principle, and took their leave. Howlington would glance over his shoulder curiously, "Should we wait for the others?" Normally one to isolate, he was beginning to grow rather fond of these few individuals. He wouldn't extend his words and loosely throw the term friends around, but he was starting to enjoy their company. Perhaps a part of him wanted to be cautious. After all, it wasn't just a simple mission. There must be a reason Lord Death isn't sending himself out. The male would casually clasps his hands behind his neck, strolling alongside his partner.
"No, this wasn't technically a group project. I want us to be first to find Mr. Stein so that way we'll stand out and impress Lord Death. Isn't that what you want?" Isabella marched forward without turning her gaze. It always seemed as if she had to prove something, continuously impress, and maintain a certain imagine. To Isabella, Shibusen was a big deal. And ever since the passing of her partner, the female felt as if she really had to prove herself.
Without asking anymore questions, Howl simply nodded his head in regards to the female's reply. He always found himself trusting Isabella, even if at times her actions didn't seem right. She got where she was through her hard work and he admired that. Howl wanted to gain a strong presence within Shibusen. But, becoming partners with Isabella made him believe his popularity only grew because of her importance. He wasn't just a plan b, filler, or back up plan. He would show how worthy he truly was. "I was thinking we should head to his home. It wouldn't like him to be elsewhere outside of Shibusen."
