Shadow Priya staggered back as she was climbed upon, and there was a wrenching noise as her head came off in Santos's hands. Her convulsions threw him from her, as she shook, and tangled black wires dripping black fluid unfolded from the neck, two heads growing in their place. The electronic cacophony continued.
Priya nodded once, understanding, and ran to Santos on the floor, and helped him up. "I...think I get what I might have to do. Thanks, though, that was, well, that was brave."
Karma watched the scene unfold from high above. He climbed one of the thick black wires to its peak. His plan was more-or-less simple. Instead of hacking away at the giant, maybe they could contain it within the technology. Then once it lost its mobility, the group could adequately get rid of it. Before he could begin, Karma noticed Priya switch the plan immediately.
“I do hope she knows what she’s doing…” Karma muttered, watching Priya approach the enemy.
Staring down the horrific spider-like version of herself, Priya shook as she put her hand into her pocket, and pulled out her heart, her soul, her talisman; her cell phone. She placed it gingerly on the floor in front of her, and the room fell silent as Shadow Priya stared at her, all the cacophony and videos paused.
Priya stared at the phone she'd had to pay a lot of people to sneak into the facility, the phone she'd had for almost too long, now. The phone she'd ruined lives with. She gulped once, and picked one foot up, and drove it down hard onto the phone, shattering the screen and crushing it beyond repair.
As she did so, Shadow Priya shattered with it, leaving a puddle of black metallic parts and black ooze. In its place, an android-like Goddess glowed in midair where Shadow Priya had stood, her many arms raised in peace.
‘Her phone?’ Karma thought, trying to find the correlation. ‘Isn’t that what got her into this mess in the first place? Why is she…’ He continued, staring at the effect it had on the monitors and monster itself incredulously. “They’ve all stopped…” He noted, before glancing down just in time to see her stomp her life away.
When Priya shattered her phone, Karma began sliding down the wires like a fireman on his way to an emergency. The grotesque monster they had been battling was replaced with a glowing metallic goddess. ‘As if we haven’t seen enough…’ He thought, circling around the Persona and joining the group in time for the monologue.
"I am a Persona, the true self. You have all been chosen to be tested. There is great evil at work in this place, and you are the only ones with the power to stop it. The creature behind this will undoubtedly take more people from your world, and bring them here. You must face yourselves, and find your own personas. Once you do, you can scourge this cursed place from existence, and free more than just yourselves. Call upon me when you need my help, Priya."
“Wait! We were chosen to be tested? Since when do tests involve life or death? Why couldn’t we just get A’s and F’s? Who’s behind this?” Karma asked, his temper flaring. He took a few steps toward the Persona. “More people from our world and bring them here? Are you telling me that K’oueh is here somewhere? What about the rest of his classmates? Why are you guys toying with us?!” He yelled, but to no avail. Priya’s persona had shimmered away.
Karma looked at Priya, a look of complete disbelief written all over his face. “Bring that thing back. That thing has all the answers!” He said. Karma looked around, gauging the expressions of everyone else involved. Nobody had spoken up. Karma couldn’t blame them. A lot was going on.
Santos hummed "well that one way to disconnect.” He muttered then looked at Priya "and a good way to get rid of the evidence.” He sighed "Look Priya next time you want to use chaos to do something in secret, do me a favor and be as far away from me as possible. I don't like the whole guilt by association thing alright. Now let's blow this joint before any other creepy crawlies decide we're good entertainment.” He shuttered and without another word to the others. He headed out the door.
An exasperated sigh escaped Karma’s lips. He lifted his hand to Priya, “Forget it. Whether or not your new friend returns, her words were clear. We’re being tested. The answers we seek will come to fruition. Let’s follow tall, dark and mopey and get out of here.” Karma too left out the new portal, appearing within the bathroom. Surprised to see Masato, he offered a quick wave then glanced at Santos trying to discern if he had gave away any information.
“Too many different levels of why you shouldn’t be in the bathroom with us…”Karma mentioned to Masato. “But I doubt you or your higher-ups care… Say, what exactly are you doing here?” Karma asked.

"Her phone... The source of the evil?" Meika dropped her guard as she saw everything unfold, the spirit rising from the ashes and pledging her allegiance to Priya. "This is more than what we signed up for..."
As Santos spoke, she shook her head. His brattiness would get her attention one on one, this dish would be served cold. For now, she'd turn her attention to what's going on in front of her. She looked at Karma and shook her head again, the panic beginning to annoy her. "Calm down boy. Red hair is in distress, that's what we have to settle first." She said walking down to Priya. "You cool red head?"

Hikaru frowned looking at the mirror. “It seems the game is still playing by the same rules as before good. This means we don’t need to be worried until later on” He muttered staring at the mirror while pulling out a notebook pencil.
“If anything happens to the students it will be another, what twenty years before anyone uses this building again I suggest you don’t try to mess it up this time around” Hikaru stated having assessed the situation.
Sophie hadn’t done much during the battle or incident or whatever it was she didn’t know what to call it. She made her way over to Karma looking un-amused. “I suggest that once we get back we find weapons because with everything that is going on it seems this time around we got by mostly by luck” She muttered.

(In, welcome back.)
Priya breathed out steadily, and smiled at Meika. "I'm...well, you all saw that. That was a lot. I've no idea what's going on. And believe me, I'm asking her the same questions. And she's not answering. Part of me thinks....even SHE doesn't know what's going on here."
She let out one last long breath, and looked up as the bathroom mirrors appeared just across from them. A way out.
"And I guess that's the exit, huh? Time to go face the music."
She looked at the floor, where her mobile phone lay crushed and shattered. Part of her felt sad. The phone and the catfishing had made her feel powerful and wanted, but look where it had gotten her- a correctional facility, and what she was currently chalking up to some communal mental breakdown. Part of her felt free- she didn't have to stay up late to talk to those in different time zones, didn't have to constantly juggle plates just to-what? Feel a rush?
She stomped on the phone again, hard, just to make sure.
"Okay, I'm good. Let's go."

Located in a distant hallway, was Sosuke leaned over against his knees attempting to pry open a door. The timing couldn't have been better. The halls were silent, others were causing mischief, no one would dare suspect the boy of scurrying away. His deep, rich raven locks fell against the male's ears. Both hands were extended forward towards the handle of the door. In one hand held a paper clip, in the other was a card. A small portion of his tongue slipped passed his lips as his eyebrows were furrowed. He quickly was becoming frustrated with how his efforts were not successful. It wasn't an ideal situation to begin with, Sosuke wasn't too happy to be locked up, knowing how disappointed his parents must be. However, he would turn this situation into an opportunity. The male was determined to figure out any information that revolved around his older brother. As much as he hated rebelling so much, but he did not want to be the one to give up. There was so much to discover and he was going to be the one to go the extra mile for Kite.

Masato made an exhale "I doubt anything I do will make a difference." An exasperated sigh escaped Karma’s lips. He lifted his hand to Priya, “Forget it. Let’s follow tall, dark and mopey and get out of here.” Karma too left out the new portal, appearing within the bathroom. Masato made an exhale "I'm trying to understand what my son got into that made him disappear into oblivion." He stated calmly "your son disappeared." Santos muttered Masato hummed "he's one of the fushigi eight. Arashi Satou." Santos blinked then his face hardened "right... your dead son." Masato took an inhale and exhale "yes, my dead son who even now haunts me from the grave." He hummed "but I can also think that it's not him that's haunting me but something else perhaps my guilt on what I've done." He sighed "I am glad you all survived this one but I surmise it is just the beginning." "Not for me." Santos muttered "I don't want any part of this shit." Masato grunted "you don't want any part." "Nope, I don't care if they think I need to be tested, I'm not gonna take it, These shadows don't control my life I do. I choose my path and my fate anyone who thinks they can force their way on me." He scoffed "I'll overcome them no matter what they try nothing will make me bend to anyone's will." He hummed "I'm out of here good luck with your tests you'll need it." He walked off

As Santos spoke, Priya nodded. It was a lot. There was so much going on, and she understood. Masatou had seen such loss, and the tests weren't fair. The shadows of this place had clearly twisted over time, and had become harsher. She wanted to say something, but he was already leaving so fast.
At this moment, the group were interrupted by Hatsumomo Nitta, and Ms. Shima. Hatsumomo, the director of finance, gave the group a large, fake smile. "The search going well, is it? Ah, I see you've found Priya. In the toilets. Like we thought. Honestly, Nadeshiko-" She spoke, staring at Ms. Shima sharply. "If there were any room in the factory programs, I'd disband this useless psychology focus group you've made for yourself."
Ms. Shima stared at her shoes. Priya kept her mouth shut. Something about Ms. Shima's demeanor made her think she knew things about Fushigi, and something about Ms. Nitta's attitude made it clear she didn't.
"First order of business- where is Santos? We have good news for him. And Masatou....I have less good news for you. And...that...doesn't help." She finished lamely, pointing at the bathroom mirror.
It clearly read aRAsHi WiLl nEVeR rETuRN tO mE.
"Hurry along, inmates.Ms. Shima will speak to you, it's almost time to turn in. I'll speak to Masatou alone."
After they'd gone, Hatsumomo fixed Masatou with a stare. "You know I have to let you go, Masatou. I know your child lost his life here, but....finding you in the toilets with the children? That graffiti? You have a job to do. You have classes to teach. And while I respect that you are a very intelligent man...you're too close to the scandal. Kimiko and Hikaru at least keep their noses clean- Hikaru told me he was coming to check on the children....but you? I fear you're a loose cannon. You're fired."
She left the bathroom quickly, and Masatou left to clear his desk in silence.
"Santos...Santos!" She spoke, spying the young man in the hall. "I need to speak to you. There's been a clerical error. Naturally, there's more to this, but to cut a long story short, you have been falsely imprisoned. Your lawyer has worked overtime to bring this to light, and you are free to go."
She patted the young man on the shoulder, and gave what she thought was a winning smile. "I recommend you sue. There's a taxi ready to take you home, all of your belongings are in it, I've been told. Enjoy your freedom, young man."
Santos nodded, and headed out through the hall, guards escorting him, making sure he got through all the doors. Once he was outside, it was beginning to rain, and it was dark. Night had fallen. He ran to the taxi, and opened the door. Something was wrong. The taxi door opened into black oblivion, and a large, thick tendril whipped out of the car and pulled him, snapping the door shut. The taxi pulled out of the instution's driveway, and drove off, no one noticing.

Ms. Shima regarded the group. She lowered her voice. "Look....I know about the....well, the....I think they're ghosts? I haven't been entirely honest with you. I kinda selected you from the start. You all have backgrounds either in Fushigi history, like me, or totally unrelated, but you all have talents. Those accidents...I'm sure weren't accidents. But the police never believed me, and I could never find enough evidence on my own. This is where you come in. I can only assume you've encountered...whatever it was. And for that, I'm sorry. I don't know how this works, I don't know how dangerous it is. I've tried to keep you children safe, but I've failed, I know that." She paused, and smiled sheepishly.
"Hatsumomo thinks the group is a waste of time, but we know that this mystery runs deep, and we need to find the answers, soon. More people will surely be in danger. If you need adult help, I can assist. Hikaru can help. And Kimiko, the librarian, can, too. And also, he was delayed transfer, but another member will be added to your group. His name is Sozuke Jazukure. You'll be meeting him soon. But for now..."
"It's getting late. I can answer whatever questions you may have, but then it's time to sleep."

Meika looked at Ms. Shima with rage in her eyes. She just unknowingly risked her life for a cause that wasn't even her own, she needed answers. However, since she was trapped in this prison, anger wouldn't be the method. She needed to be patient, make every decision count. "Lady, you knew what you were doing. We could've lost our lives. What questions do we need to ask? You need to do more explaining. Especially your logic behind all of this." She scoffed, her anger dying for now, but it never stayed down for too long.
She thought about bringing up that mystical summon, but the chances of her knowing the answer were slim. Also, it may be good to keep that as a secret weapon, Meika and the group were basically being extorted. They needed to keep as much of their information limited as extract as much as they could. The group had leverage now, there's not much else to lose except their lives. And that wouldn't benefit anyone. "We also need better living arrangements." She smiled.

Karma stood their dumbfounded. After all they had went through. Sucked into a portal in the bathroom. Fought against a giant shadow arachnid that dissipated into a goddess when defeated. How could Santos still believe he was in control? He watched quietly as the dark haired male disappeared as the door closed behind him. He rubbed the back of his head and looked toward Masato, expecting some sort of response or lecture. Suddenly, Hatsumomo entered the room. Karma’s face immediately fell with disgust. “Why are you here? Don’t you have other kids to torture?” He asked, folding his arms. Jabs and pokes at their egos was her best quality.
"Hurry along, inmates. Ms. Shima will speak to you, it's almost time to turn in. I'll speak to Masatou alone."
Karma scoffed, but did as he was told following the group and Ms. Shima. When she admitted to knowing more than initially let on, Karma grinned. He should’ve been mad, her endangering them and all, but he couldn’t contain his joy. K’oueh never once spoke of any paranormal happenings at Fushigi, but Karma figured he wouldn’t because nobody would believe him. Hell, even Karma would’ve called a bluff. Nodding at Raija’s suggestion, Karma added his own to the mix. “Hatsumomo’s office. I want to know where it is. I’d also like to know what car she drives. Year, make, model and color if you can. Aside from that, this psychology focus group as she put it will continue to be model inmates.”
