Sukob looked between Delrose, who made quick work of the fallen tree and already started a fire, and Saleme. His ears twitched as Zuku approached him, but feeling no malice Sukob didn't budge. Truthfully, Zuku's monologue touched him, as did the two races at play in Eideara's garden. Sukob quickly shook the fake world out of his thoughts and returned a glare to Zuku.
"The last people I put my trust in have either died or failed their mission, so you'll find I'm not so easily trusting of others," Sukob responded gruffly, shrugging Zuku's hand off his shoulders. He took a long pause before speaking again, "However, I can feel your spirit, and I know you believe the words you speak. I'll work with you, just stay out of my way."
Delrose laughed heartily, "I didn't think you'd turn around and agree with him, Puss!" By now, there was a bonfire surrounded with small stones. The dinosaur meat was impaled onto a stick and set above the flames, the mysterious man spinning it ever so often.
Delrose ripped a piece of meat off and tasted it before spitting it back out onto the earth. "Too chewy," He groaned before glancing back at the group. He gestured toward Larry, "there's a difference between waiting around and preparing, boy. Even though that sourpuss is wrong on many fronts, one thing he's right about is you guys aren't ready. Maybe you could physically fend off the strongest of demons, but psychologically, you need to get your heads in the game."
Sukob began to growl in irritation. "Who the fuck is this guy? Why didn't anyone feel his presence when he arrived? Is anyone not disturbed?" He unsheathed his claws and bore his teeth at Delrose.
Delrose lifted his hands in surrender, "woah, woah, woah scary Terry, I'm not your enemy. You guys found your way into my neck of the woods. Don't act like I'm trespassing."
